Delete your Lunia account
You can delete your account inside Lunia, or request deletion by email if you no longer have access to the app. Account deletion removes your server account and encrypted backup. In the app, you also choose whether to erase the data on this device.
First, you may not need an account at all
Lunia works fully without one. If you never chose “Sign in” during setup, there is nothing on our servers to delete: your workouts, GPS routes, cycle history, daily logs and notes are stored on your device. Use Delete everything in Profile, Data and privacy to clear local app data. Previously exported files or shared copies must be removed separately.
An account exists if you signed in with Apple or Google. Enabling encrypted cloud backup is a separate choice.
Deleting from inside the app
- Open Lunia and go to the Profile tab.
- Scroll to the Account section.
- Tap Delete account.
- Review the option to erase data on this device. It is on by default. Leave it on to erase your local history too, or turn it off to keep your history on the phone.
- Confirm the deletion.
The same option is also in the Account sheet, at the bottom of the Profile tab next to Sign out, and in Profile, Data and privacy.
After successful deletion, Lunia removes the account and encrypted backup and signs you out. If the device-erasure option is on, it also clears the local dataset and any workout being recorded.
Deleting by email
If the app is already uninstalled, or you cannot sign back in, email [email protected] with the subject Delete my account, from the email address you used to sign in.
Sending it from that address is what lets us confirm the account is yours. If you signed in with Apple
and chose Hide My Email, send it from your real address and include the relay address Apple gave
you (it ends in @privaterelay.appleid.com), or just tell us which sign-in method you used and we
will work it out with you.
We will confirm by reply once it is done. We aim to complete these within 7 days, and in practice it is much faster.
What gets deleted
Deleting your account permanently removes, from our servers:
- Your account record, including the email address associated with it.
- Your encrypted cloud backup, in full, including saved workouts, GPS routes, cycle data and daily logs included in that backup.
We cannot read that backup and never could: it is encrypted on your device with a key held in your device’s keychain, which is never sent to us. Deleting the account removes the ciphertext.
Our database provider’s routine backups may keep a copy for a short period afterwards before they expire on their normal schedule, as described in the privacy policy.
What is not deleted, and how to remove it
Local history, if you choose to keep it. Turning off device erasure keeps the workouts, saved GPS routes, cycle history and daily logs on that phone. You can clear them later with Delete everything in Profile, Data and privacy. A deletion request made by email cannot remotely wipe your phone or another device.
Exported files and shared content. GPX files, data exports, reports, photos, cards and stickers saved outside Lunia or sent to other people are not recalled by account deletion. Delete copies you control from the place you saved them, and contact the recipient or service for copies they hold.
Your subscription. Subscriptions are billed by Apple or Google, not by us, so deleting your account does not cancel one. Cancel it from your App Store subscriptions or your Google Play subscriptions.
Your health app data. Lunia only ever read from Apple Health or Health Connect, never wrote to it, so there is nothing of ours to remove there. You can revoke Lunia’s access from your phone’s own health settings at any time.
Location and motion permissions. You can revoke these separately in your phone’s privacy settings. Revoking permission stops access to new readings; it does not delete saved routes or files you have already exported.
